MFX: MFXtra: The Scottish Announce Table – Ep 13.
Duckman and George ‘The Animal’ Peel are back to bring you news and show reviews in the weird world of pro wrestling. It’s a pro wrestling podcast, with a decidedly Scottish flavour. On the show this week…
It’s hot in Scotland, so hot that Duckman and George are slightly delirious, which makes for a super fun show! Duckman is in a ranty little mood about wrestling twitter. He’s annoyed by the phrase ‘botch shaming culture’ and virtue signalling white knights who won’t stop riding to the rescue of women’s wrestling, when they really aren’t needed.
There’s more than just Duckman being a grumpy old man, there’s tons of pro wrestling chat as the lads discuss the news WWE will be broadcasting Summerslam and other shows live from the Am Way Arena in Florida. They give their thoughts on RAW Underground and the new Retribution stable and whether or not these new concepts are the answers to WWE’s main roster creative woes and viewership losses.
They review the last two weeks of NXT and AEW, with all the build to Takeover and All Out. Plenty of great matches, some good angles, a few missteps, lots of hate for Pat McAfee, and all the usual fun the lads have when discussing their two favourite weekly wrestling shows. Plus Duckman explains to George the WAP video and Ben Shaprio’s epic self-own when he was trying to make fun of the track
The show is wrapped up as usual with the Random Retro PPV Review. This week it’s WWF Summerslam 2001. We’re slap bang in the middle of the Invasion angle. There’s great matches, terrible matches, some hilarious backstage skits and SO MUCH STAR POWER. A really fun review of a fun show. So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.
