MFX: MFXtra: The Scottish Announce Table – Ep 32.
Duckman and George ‘The Animal’ Peel are back to bring you news and show reviews in the weird world of pro wrestling. It’s a pro wrestling podcast, with a decidedly Scottish flavour. On the show this week…
Edibles. They’re a hell of thing. Especially when you try to do a podcast, which Duckman does this week. Makes for some fun chat. There’s Euros chat, cookery show chat, Duckman is back in the office, George is having issues with his family embarrassing him in public, and Duckman has managed to score himself a PS5. Fun times folks!
Plenty of wrestling chat as the lads cover more recent WWE releases, the news of Zelina Vega returning to WWE and the ridiculous responses online by some people. A recently fired WWE writer made the news with some really stupid comments on a podcast, so the lads cover this and get into the long running issues around how WWE structure and write their shows. The lads also breakdown the last couple of weeks of AEW news. With lots of chat around the Kenny Omega v Jungleboy match and they look back at AEW’s time in Daily’s Place and how important that venue was to AEW during the pandemic.
The lads answer your questions on what they would do to fix Raw, which football players they would pick to train to be wrestlers, what legacy Dave Meltzer and his generation of wrestling journalists leave behind and where do they fit in the modern world of clickbait and contrarian opinion.
The show is wrapped up as always with the Random Retro PPV Review. This week it’s WCW Bash at the Beach 1995. What a show! The show that took place on an actual beach, in conjunction with the TV show Baywatch. There are some of the worst matches you’ll ever see, some of the dumbest characters and booking decision of all time, and yet the show is amazing! Meng, Sting, Flair, Savage, Hogan and Vader bring it in their own ways. Dave Sullivan, Jim Duggan, The Renegade, and The Nasty Boys continue to astound at how horrible they are. Bobby Heenan and Tony Schiavone put on another masterclass of commentary. A super fun review of a truly bizarre WCW show. There’s nothing better!
So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.
