MFX: MFXtra: 3 Pints With Betty – Ep 17.
Welcome one and welcome all, the bar is open, the drinks are poured, so raise a glass to all the biggest nerd news stories of the past couple of weeks. Join your heroes Duckman and Marc Abrigo as they give nerd news the full 3PB treatment. On the show this week…
The lads kick off with a quick coronavirus catch up, with three fun news stories about the on-going situation including the Chief Medical Officer of the Scottish government making a massive mistake, idiots setting 5G communication masts on fire because they believe it is transmitting coronavirus, and a top footballer who told everyone to social distance and then threw a wild sex party with hookers just a day later. See, there is some fun to be had around this, you just have to find the dumb people.
There’s only one thing the lads can talk about this week and that’s the insane new Netflix documentary series Tiger King. As you’ll know if you’ve seen this show, it’s one of the most bizarre and wildly entertaining shows the lads have ever seen. They have a hell of a lot of fun talking about all the main players in this weird and wonderful world.
Marc has seen something Duckman hasn’t, so it’s time for another edition of ‘But Have You Seen This?’ There’s a fun story behind this one! Plus Marc has a great time watching the two new Jumanji movies to celebrate his five year anniversary. There’s some news on the Marvel phase 4 movies being put back.
Marc talks video games, the announcement of the indefinite delay of Last of Us 2, plus he gives some great information on the ‘crunch’ issues surrounding the release of big games. Duckman has all the inside information on Zack Snyder’s recent watch along of his Batman vs. Superman movie and the lads try to make sense of his ideas for the movie and his really strange explanations for some of the bigger plot holes in that movie and Justice League.
The lads wrap the show up with a new feature – Hell on Reels – where they review bad movies suggested by the listeners of the show. The first edition takes a deep dive look at DC’s Suicide Squad. There’s a ton of fun to be had with this dumpster fire of a movie, terrible script, bizarre performances, one of the worst big bad characters in comic book history. The lads struggle to make sense of this movie but have a great time trying. This is a super fun review of a really poor movie.
So get listening, what else are going to do during lockdown? Get this show, get some laughs and some nerd news goodness. So sit back, relax and enjoy some 3PB in your life.
