MFX: MFXtra: The Scottish Announce Table – Ep 5.
Can you guess what we’re talking about this week? Just when you thought Tiger King was the craziest story you’d hear during the COVID-19 lockdown, step forward Vince McMahon and WWE. There’s no tigers involved in this story folks. Nope, just a lot of under handed political manoeuvring (our lawyers say we’re not allowed to say ‘bribe’), some ridiculously cruel timing, and one of the most disgusting example of putting profits before people.
The lads go all out and have their rant pants on for this show. They discuss all the latest from Vince and WWE, with talent cuts, ‘essential service’ shenanigans and so much more. If you’re a fan of Vince McMahon, capitalism and billionaires using a pandemic to make more money at the expense of the hard working people who got them there, this won’t be the show for you. If you’re sane, and hate all that, you’re going to love this.
The lads also pay tribute to the recently passed WWE legend Howard Finkle. They also cover all the latest in-ring news from WWE and AEW. The show is wrapped up this week with the first random retro PPV review. It’s time for some good old fashioned ‘rasslin as the lads review WCW Chi-Town Rumble from 1989. We’ve got mullets, we’ve got cocaine fuelled promos (lots of them), we’ve got red hot 80s wrestling crowd, we’ve got Dave Meltzer at ring side, and we’ve got a classic Ric Flair v Ricky Steamboat main event!! This was a hell of a fun show to watch, and this review is just as fun.
It’s been a long, insane and pretty horrible week in pro-wrestling, but don’t let that put you off. Duckman and George ‘The Animal’ Peel are here to bring a little fun, and a lot of ranting, into your life. It’s a damn fun show, with plenty of laughs and insight to get you through another long day on lockdown. As always thanks for listening and be sure to get involved with the show through all the usual channels.
