MFX: MFXtra: 3 Pints with Betty – Ep 18

Welcome one and welcome all, the bar is open, the drinks are poured, so raise a glass to all the biggest nerd news stories of the past couple of weeks. Join your heroes Duckman and Marc Abrigo as they give nerd news the full 3PB treatment. On the show this week…

Some COVID-19 lockdown chat to kick things off this week, of course. There’s tales of Marc’s new mask and his new glorious man-bun. Duckman gives the low down on his new CBD oil use, and his terrible Fortnite skills (thankfully his 9 year old nephew saves his ass on a regular basis). Only 3PB can bring this level of giggles to COVID-19 lockdown chat.

The lads talk the sad news that San Diego Comic-Con has been cancelled for the first time in its 50 year history. Marc is more upset about the BTS concert he was due to attend has been cancelled. Duckman says goodbye to Arrow as he FINALLY got to watch the series finale. Marc has some news on a reboot of a reboot with the new Green Hornet movie being announced. The lads wonder if the world really needs, or wants, a new Green Hornet movie and discuss the obsession with movie studios creating cinematic universes.

The lads discuss the news that Sam Raimi has been confirmed as the new director of Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Raimi has a strong track record with his Spider-Man trilogy and the lads discuss what Raimi could bring to this much anticipated movie. JJ Abrams new deal with HBO/Warner Brothers has been announced and he’ll be taking a stab at a Justice League Dark TV show. The lads give their thoughts on this news. Plus cover a Batman movie that was never made and have a few final words on Joe Exotic and Tiger King.

The highlight of the show, as always, is Hell on Reels. The lads sit down to review some bad movies, chosen by you the listeners. This week it’s time for The Fantastic Four from 1994, which looks like it was made in 1974! We won’t give too many spoilers for this review, but we’ll just say it’s a straight to video Marvel movie, with no budget, a bizarre script, some completely wooden performances, terrible direction and even worse special effects. This is one of the most fun things ever on 3PB. Strap in, this is a hell of a ride.
