MFX: MFXtra: The Scottish Announce Table – Ep 29.

Duckman and George ‘The Animal’ Peel are back to bring you news and show reviews in the weird world of pro wrestling. It’s a pro wrestling podcast, with a decidedly Scottish flavour. On the show this week…

After a few weeks off to recover from WrestleMania month (at least it feels like that these days) the lads are back and they are hitting the ground running. Duckman is fully Covid vaccinated, struggling to cope with post lockdown socialising and drinking, and RAGING against his latest Football Manager game. The lads trade some horror stories from the game and George’s real life team of Dundee put him through the ringer.

Tons of pro wrestling chat on the show this week. One of the most memorable and legit scary men in the history of wrestling, New Jack, passed away recently. The lads talk his career, impact on the business, the controversies that followed him in and out of the ring and everything that made New Jack one of the most entertaining promos of all time, but also a really dangerous person in and out of the ring.

The lads talk AEW and in particular the Blood and Guts match, the online reaction to it, Jericho’s bump and subsequent injury. They marvel at everything MJF. They also discuss Darby Allin’s TNT Title run and his significant ratings success in recent months. They also cover a few other AEW stories and preview the Double or Nothing PPV card. There’s some WWE chat as the lads discuss a couple of recent WWE Network documentaries and discuss Daniel Bryan’s contract situation and what the future might hold for him.

The show is wrapped up as always with the Random Retro PPV Review and God damn do we have a HELL of a show for you guys this week. WCW Slamboree 2000. A super controversial, Russo booked mess of matches with no finishes, so many baseball bat shots, an all time bad triple deck cage main event, and an absolute mess of a commentary team. The Millionaire’s Club vs. New Blood. Plus serious Hulk Hogan, Russo owns Liz, everyone wants to kill Terry Funk, is this match no dq?, Kevin Nash is our favourite wrestler ever, and THE GREATEST CROWD OF ALL TIME! This show is so bad it’s good. One of our most fun retro reviews of all time!

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.
